Zack's Family Restaurant in Dothan, Alabama opened in 2006. It’s owned by Zack and Dianne Whaley and has been awarded Alabama's best restaurant.

We spoke with owner Dianne Whaley, and she said they are still in shock, the family hasn't even had a chance to process everything that has happened but they plan to reopen as soon as possible.

Dianne also said the restaurant looks ok from the outside.

But is completely destroyed from one end to the other on the inside.

The fire apparently started in the kitchen.

"Dianne just responded to my post and unfortunately their Restaurant, ZACK’S in Dothan was totally destroyed by fire this evening.

Praying for Zack and Dianne and their employees … this is just heartbreaking…ZACK’S is famous because The food is so good and everyone loves going there to see and visit with Zack and Dianne.

One of those great places where they know your name and you are part of their family…. The two of them for years have put their heart and soul into the restaurant…We love Zack’s and hope they will be back in business soon. Love to The Whaley’s ….Great people. God has got this"

"We regret to inform our Zack’s Family Restaurant customers that our restaurant in Dothan, Alabama has been significantly damaged by fire late Saturday night (July 16, 2022). Thankfully no one was harmed. The Dothan location will be closed until further notice. Thank you all for your support and prayers."
