Alabama Non-Profit Teaches Youth Entrepreneurship
Children are usually difficult to reach unless you have the ability to communicate in their language. Not all children speak the same language, but if you are able to tap into that form of communication, it can make some things easier to communicate in the time it is needed.
Fork In The Road Foundation, a non-profit organization, was founded by Corey Stewart this year.
We interviewed Stewart and he stated that it is a “youth development program that helps kids to make better choices and decisions.” Its mission, to empower youth to create their own opportunities, navigate challenges, and achieve success through mentorship, education and development, is a layered task that needs to be addressed.
Over the weekend, Fork In The Road hosted an even called “Entrepreneur Day.” Stewart created this event to showcase from start to finish how entrepreneurship works from building a product, to profiting off a product, and the expenses associated with that process.
We also spoke with Malcom Brown, who works with the foundation, at Entrepreneur Day, he stated that he “doesn’t think there is a lot of things in the world that amount to the fueling and feeding into a young child more than watching them use the skills and tools you teach them in their everyday life.”
He looks at those opportunities as valuable chances to leave an imprint on a child’s life.
There are many ways to reach the youth if you are trying to do so, it just might include a form of communicating that you aren’t used to. Anybody invested in who our youth grows up to be should be highlighted much more than are.
