[Tuscaloosa, AL] – Get ready for an adrenaline-filled afternoon as Druid City Derby (DCD) launches its 2025 season with a double header on Saturday, March 1, at the Bobby Miller Activity Center. The action starts at 3:00 PM with the junior team, the Druid City Daredevils, facing off against Birmingham’s Steel City Slayers, followed by the highly anticipated adult matchup between DCD and Huntsville’s Rocket City Roller Derby at 5:30 PM.
“We’re always pumped to share what Druid City Derby is all about, but this milestone makes it even more special,” said Grace Tant, board president. “This league has grown into a strong and supportive community for skaters, officials, and volunteers, and I look forward to seeing it thrive for years to come.”
Druid City Derby was founded in June 2015 by Megan "Val" Gunter and Kelly "Salty" Wolfe. What began as a simple Facebook page quickly grew into a full-fledged league, including the launch of the junior team, the Druid City Daredevils, in 2021.
This family-friendly event welcomes fans of all ages. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door, with all proceeds supporting Druid City Derby, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Pre-sale tickets, season passes and sponsorship opportunities are available at druidcityderby.com.
