Downtown Construction Forces Frutta Bowls to Close

Road work continues in Downtown Tuscaloosa as ALDOT advances on its project to widen Lurleen Boulevard, and although the construction has been difficult for commuters, no one has felt its impact more than local businesses.

Frutta Bowls on University Boulevard downtown will close permanently Sunday night. The restaurant has lost close to a quarter of a million dollars of business since the Lurleen Wallace project began.

Any gift cards purchased at Frutta Bowls Downtown will be honored at Frutta Bowls Midtown Village location.
