Derrick Henry Makes History

The Tennessee Titans, led by former Alabama running back and the NFL's leading rusher Derrick Henry, dominated on Sunday, winning 31-10 in an AFC South showdown. Henry, who came into the game with 1,317 rushing yards on the season, added 215 yards and two touchdowns, making history along the way.

Derrick Henry, with his fourth career game of at least 200 rushing yards and two touchdowns, became the only player in NFL history to do so more than three times, passing LaDainian Tomlinson, Jim Brown, and Barry Sanders along the way.

In typical Derrick Henry fashion, this record-setting performance came against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have played victim to the reign of King Henry multiple times over the course his career. Prior to today's performance, Henry's most memorable moment against the Jaguars was back in 2019 when he joined Tony Dorsett as one of the only players in NFL history with a 99 yard rushing touchdown.

Henry, looking to take home the NFL rushing title for the second year in a row, leads Dalvin Cook by 180 yards with just a few weeks remaining in the season. The Titans, now sitting at 9-4, are hanging on to a slim lead in the AFC South, and move on to face Detroit at home next week.

If Derrick Henry continues the trend of previous years, the next few games will see him put up monster numbers and hopefully widen the gap on Dalvin Cook. The Titans are in position to win their division and finish with more than nine wins for the first time since 2008, and Henry has been a massive reason for his team's success.
