DCH Names Augusta’s Mallary Myers as New Chief Operating Officer
Another new face has joined the leadership team of the DCH Health System, which oversees hospitals in Tuscaloosa, Northport and Fayette.
It has been a tumultuous year for the health care provider, much of which has been reported on previously by the Thread, but local leaders have expressed optimism that the leadership of new CEO Katrina Keefer will catalyze real improvement there.
Katrina officially took over as CEO last month, and on Monday announced that Mallary Myers will join her team as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

“I am confident Mallary’s leadership will be a tremendous asset to DCH,” Keefer said. “Mallary’s track record of success speaks for itself, and her skills will complement our existing team with practical experience that will help us accelerate change.”
The two women have worked together before, both at Augusta University Health and at UAB's Baptist Health System in Montgomery.
Myers will leave her role as Vice President of Ancillary Operations and Chief Innovation Officer at AUH, where her leadership has earned her national attention.
She will replace former COO Paul Betz, who announced his resignation in May, just weeks after then-CEO Bryan Kindred announced plans to retire.
A spokesperson for the DCH System said Myers will officially join the team in Tuscaloosa on October 31st, and that in her role she "will focus on the growth of the system’s outpatient and ancillary services as well as supporting efforts in partnering with the communities DCH serves through outreach and innovation."
In layman's terms, she will look to secure grants, improve operational processes to save money within the System and more.
