Councilman Tyner On Why He Voted Against State of Emergency
Tuscaloosa City Councilman Kip Tyner told the Steve Shannon Morning Show that Corona is a legitimate, serious concern. But he added that emergency restrictions on local restaurants and bars is not the proper approach. Tyner was one of three council members that voted no on granting Mayor Walt Maddox emergency restriction powers. The final vote was 4-3 in favor of emergency restrictions.
Tyner added that it is impossible to legislate and enforce morality or responsibility in Covid-19 safety measures. He said personal responsibility is essential.
Tyner also talked about his personal interest in future mayoral elections.
