Chris Young shared some big news on social media on Tuesday (May 2): He'll have a brand-new single to share with his fans on May 12.

In a Facebook Live video, Young revealed that "Losing Sleep" will be his first single from his forthcoming new album. Young co-wrote the song with Chris DeStefano and Josh Hoge, two of his frequent collaborators. Until its release on May 12, he'll be sharing audio, photos and videos related to the single and his next album, which is being produced by Corey Crowder (another frequent collaborator).

On social media, Young has been letting fans see behind the scenes of his record-making process. He says that the new record contains "some really cool stuff."

"Some of the songs are a little more stripped; a lot of them are really specific grooves," Young says. "Everything has its own slot on the record ... I really think you guys are going to be excited to hear it.”

In mid-March Young revealed on Twitter that he had been writing with Dutch DJ Tiesto, as well as Crowder and Nathan Chapman. It's unclear if the results of that writing session will factor into Young's upcoming album.

Young is currently out on tour with Jason Aldean, as part of Aldean's 2017 They Don't Know Tour. He will also be headlining the 2017 Headwaters Country Jam and a Fourth of July concert in Nashville this summer. A list of all of Young’s upcoming shows is available on his website.
