You’re Fired OR Free Speech? Senator Tuberville On UA Professor & More
US Senator Tommy Tuberville told Steve & DC on 953 The BEAR this morning that he supports the firing of some who’ve made hateful, harsh, public comments about the assassination of conservative Charlie Kirk.

Coach Tuberville defended the right of companies to fire employees who share hateful or harsh comments while representing their employers. He called into question professors at universities. He’s called for firings in Enterprise, Auburn, and Tuscaloosa.
University of Alabama professor AJ Bower said publicly that Charlie Kirk’s assassination was “right on right violence”. This was proven to be untrue, per the FBI investigation.
Tuberville defended the right to free speech, but noted that when representing a university, one's employer has the right to respond to public statements. That includes termination.
He also addressed the President’s right to withhold funding from universities.
