Chain-Smoking Chimp Becomes Huge Attraction

A 19-year-old chimpanzee and resident at Pyongyang’s Central Zoo in North Korea is making headlines for her chain-smoking habits!

Azalea, who goes by “Dallae” in Korea, smokes about one pack of cigarettes per day! Officials say it's a fun habit and she never inhales the smoke. The chimp enjoys routine smoking and even waits on her trainer to toss a lighter her way when she needs one! And get this -- if she can't get a lighter, she'll use an already lit cigarette instead!

Some folks, of course, are outraged by the smoking chimp, claiming it's risky and zoo officials shouldn't allow it. PETA released a displeased statement to TIME magazine.
