On Thursday Night Football, Washington Commanders rookie and Crimson Tide alumnus Brian Robinson, Jr. made his first NFL start against the Chicago Bears. Late in the game, he found pay dirt for the first time, too.

In a game defined mainly by sloppy play and poor offensive execution, Robinson's coming out party as the team starter was possibly the lone bright spot. His fourth quarter touchdown from the Chicago 1-yard line was exactly what Washington drafted him for; to push the pile and score points in short yardage situations. Washington has struggled to do that for years.

Hopefully, Thursday's score marks the end of what has been a remarkably quick recovery period and fight to see the field for Robinson.

The former Hillcrest Patriot was shot twice in the knee during an attempted carjacking in north east DC on August 28th. The bullets missed all major components of the joint and he was back to doing agility drills just 18 days after surgery. 46 days later, he made his first start and scored his first NFL touchdown.

Robinson also scored a touchdown in the preseason, when it was originally speculated that he may be Washington's starting back, with the score being the first in the history of the Commanders monicker.
