BREAKING: Houston Hires Major Applewhite As Head Coach

After multiple conflicting reports about Alabama OC Lane Kiffin getting the Houston head coaching gig, the Cougars have decided to hire within. Current UH Offensive Coordinator Major Applewhite will take over as head coach at Houston, their athletic director tweeted Friday morning. In 2007, Applewhite served as Alabama's offensive coordinator/quarterback coach under Nick Saban.

For now, Lane Kiffin remains at Alabama. We will update this story as we learn more.
