The Alabama Crimson Tide football team is starting to make moves off the field, taking advantage of the new name, image and likeness rules. One method players can position themselves for success is to sign with an agency to help organize opportunities.

Alabama redshirt senior defensive lineman Phidarian Mathis will sign with Eric Eastham of The Familie according to Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports. The Familie is a new agency representing clients in the world of sports and music. The Familie was founded in August 2020 and has attorney Eric Eastham in charge of the sports division.

Mathis emerged as a leader in his junior season tallying 31 tackles and 1.5 sacks last season including three pass breakups and one forced fumble. He is a former 4-star recruit in the 2017 class, he was rated the No. 4 recruit in the state of Louisiana and the No. 7 defensive tackle in his class by 247Sports.

In his three-year Crimson Tide career, Mathis has 76 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks with three pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He is expected to be a second round prospect in the 2022 NFL Draft.

In addition to finding an agency to help him with NIL opportunities, Mathis is organizing a back to school giveaway for is community. Donations for children heading back to school in the fall can be made through his social media.

Mathis will be one of the senior leaders on a defensive unit that is expected to be the Crimson Tide's strength in 2021. Should he continue his strong play he will likely have ample opportunities around NIL.
