The Tide entered Wednesday night looking to bounce back after suffering their first loss off the season on Sunday.

The Tide started off slow as Southern Miss put up the first six points of the game. The Tide eventually took the lead, but the Eagles shot 50% from the field in the first half, keeping the game tight for the entire half. Alabama took a narrow 37-33 lead into the halftime break.

"I didn't like the first half, I don't think there's anybody that thought I probably did," said Alabama head coach Kristy Curry. "I think we were standing [and] watching, we had our heads [and] hands down."

The Tide came out with a brand new sense of energy in the second half and completely dominated, outscoring the Eagles 19-6 in the third quarter and 30-15 in the fourth quarter.

Curry was pleased with her team's effort in the second half.

"At this level you've got to limit easy baskets in transition and you've got to limit easy baskets on offensive put backs," said Curry. "We were able to do that in the third and fourth [quarter] against a really hard, really good rebounding team."

Brittany Davis had another impressive night for the Tide, picking up the second double-double of her career. Davis led all scorers with 23 points and added 11 rebounds. Three other Tide players scored in double figures including, Jada Rice (16), JaMya Mingo-Young (12) and Hannah Barber (11). The Tide shot 45.3% from the field and outrebounded the Eagles 44-40.

The Eagles were led in scoring by Dominique Davis with 14 points.

Next up, Alabama (2-1) will go on the road for the first time this season to face the Duke Blue Devils in Forth Worth, Texas for the Maggie Dixon Classic. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 21 on ESPN Plus.
