Spread: Alabama (-30), according to Bovada. The Crimson Tide opened as a 28.5-point favorite and it's inched up a bit from there. Both Alabama (-13) and Western Kentucky (-14.5) easily covered their point spreads in week one.

Series History: Alabama leads the all-time series, 2-0. Both meetings came in the Nick Saban era (2008, 2012) after Western Kentucky joined the FBS division of the NCAA.

Last Meeting: Much like this year, Alabama opened its home schedule with Western Kentucky after winning the 2011 national championship. Quarterback A.J. McCarron threw four touchdown passes (two each for Christion Jones and Kevin Norwood) and the defense forced four turnovers in a 35-0 shutout victory.

Last Week: The Crimson Tide rolled over Southern Cal, 52-6, behind true freshman quarterback Jalen Hurts' four total touchdowns. Alabama outgained the Trojans 465-194 on offense and limited them to just four third-down conversions in 18 tries. It was the 15th straight win in season openers for Alabama.

Western Kentucky quarterback Mike White had the most successful debut in school history last week in a 46-14 win over Rice. The South Florida transfer leads the nation with 517 yards passing and had the highest week 1 QBR (98.3) in the past 10 years.
