Alabama Swimmers: How Much Pee Is In The Pool?

The last thing I want to do is ruin your summer, but have you ever wondered how much urine is in your favorite public swimming pool?
And is the water safe?
Research reveals that there are approximately 20 gallons of urine in the average-sized public pool. That sounds like a lot. There are approximately 8 gallons of urine in smaller pools. Some doctors say there is 1 to 3 ounces of urine per swimmer in a pool.
Hotels?
Scientific tests also reveal that there are far higher concentrations of urine in hotel hot tubs. Might want to skip the public jacuzzi next time you stay in a hotel.
Rest assured, chlorine certainly treats pool water.
And we know that urine is sterile, but that doesn't change the facts. We don't want it in the pools that we're swimming in across Alabama.
.
Some of these public pools are quite expensive for a family of four or five.
When you add in snacks for the family and other stuff, the bill can rise very quickly.
Actually, doctors tell us that any bacteria from urine are killed within a few seconds.
Stool, however, is the strangest name for, well, you understand.
It is a completely different story. It can take up to 7 days for that bacteria to be killed.
Most people, if honest, will admit they have peed in the pool. Please think twice before doing it again. And for goodness' sake, don’t swallow the pool water. The thought of diving into a giant communal toilet is not very appealing.
Have a great summer!
