Jones Sr. went on to play for the Green Bay Packers for eight seasons appearing in 85 games.

He returned to Tuscaloosa to work as strength and conditioning coach. During his time at The Capstone he worked with football, women's basketball, women's golf and the women's track team.

"Terry has great relationships with players," said Alabama head coach Nick Saban. "I think that's always something that's really, really important, even more important now with the new culture that we have in college athletics. He's always made a huge impact with the players relative to his knowledge and his experience. He's always been a great guy to have around."

He was certified as a Master Strength and Conditioning Coaching by the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association in 2003, the highest certification possible for a strength and conditioning coach.

The Alabama Crimson Tide football program won seven national championships and 11 SEC titles during his time on the strength and conditioning staff.
