According to WTOK Newscenter 11 in Mississippi, Alabama men's basketball player Devonta Pollard has been charged in connection with the kidnapping of a 6-year-old Kemper County girl that took place April 30.

Pollard's mother, Jesse Mae Pollard, appeared before a U.S. District Court judge on May 2  after she was arrested for taking Jashayla Hopson from her school in Scooba, Mississippi.  Investigators had searched Pollard's car after the girl was returned to her home.
