Adam Hood knows his way around a song, both lyrically and musically which is evident in his latest single Trying 'To Write A Love Song'.

His new independent release is full of energy in the vein of Eli Young Band or songwriting partner Will Hoge. This is the type of feel good, high on life song that needs to be cranked up and "experienced" rather than just "listened to. "For me, that moment of realization came on Monday when I was leaving work. The Alabama sky was blue, the sun going down and the early spring air was cool and crisp. I rolled down the windows of my truck, put in Hood's new release and cruised home.

Since it was a single, my CD player repeated it each time it would end. Before I knew it I was halfway to McCalla and had listened to the song at least seven times! Yeah, It's that kinda song.

Listen for yourself...

On a side note, congrats goes out to this resident of Northport for getting his first platinum record to hang on the wall! Adam and friend Chris Stapleton co-wrote 'Front Porch Thing' which is the fourth track on Little Big Town's 'Tornado'.

When Adam told me about it, he was as excited as a kid in a candy store because when he went to hang it up in his office, his wife quickly said, "No, hang it in the hallway!" Right there next to the family pictures where everybody can see it.
