The Storm Prediction Center rates Alabama's probability of a tornado at “2 to 14%.”
James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said, “The highest risk of tornadoes is in the 'enhanced risk' in any discrete cells that form ahead of the main line. A strong tornado (EF-2 or higher) can't be ruled out.”
Severe Wind Outlook
The Severe Wind Outlook from the Storm Prediction Center ranges from “5 to 60%.”
“As the storms become linear, the main threat will shift to damaging straight-line winds. Possibly 70 mph in spots,” said Spann.
Hail Outlook
According to the Storm Prediction Center, Alabama's severe hail outlook ranges from “5 to 29%.”
Spann said, “Large hail is also possible with the heavier thunderstorms.”
