The Alabama Department of Public Health has confirmed another death as a result of the novel Coronavirus within Tuscaloosa County. New data from the ADPH now shows a third COVID-19 death in our county. Statewide, 315 Alabamians have lost their lives due to the virus.

The ADPH reports 77.8% of confirmed deaths are among those over the age of 65. 19.4% of confirmed deaths are among those between the ages of 50 and 64, and 2.9% of deaths are among those between the ages of 25 and 49. 54.9% of COVID-19 deaths are men while 45.1% are female.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases across the state continues to rise. There are now 8.437 confirmed cases of the novel Coronavirus in Alabama. The ADPH reports it has processed 107,602 tests and that statewide, 1,121 Alabamians have been hospitalized for treatment of COVID-19. 413 were placed in the Intensive Care Unit and 257 have required treatment with a ventilator. 1,215 confirmed cases are among doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers.
