Alabama defensive lineman LaBryan Ray represented the Crimson Tide in the 2022 East-West Shrine Bowl Thursday night.

The 97th annual Shrine Bowl took place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada as a part of Pro Bowl week in the NFL. Ray competed for the East All-Stars team, who ended up losing a close game to the West All-Stars 25-24.

As a part of the 2017 recruiting class, Ray was listed as a five star at the time of his commitment to the Tide according to 247Sports. He played five years at Alabama, winning two championships in the process, but his career with the Crimson Tide was plagued with injuries and have impeded his chances of possibly becoming a star defensive player for the team. Even though Ray could've returned and played for Alabama in 2022, he chose to forgo what would be his sixth year with the Tide and accept the invite to the Shrine Bowl.

The East-West Shrine Bowl is an annual postseason all-star game where a certain number of college players from around the nation are invited to show their skills in front of NFL scouts and a national television audience.

All of the profits received from the game goes to benefiting Shriner's Children Hospital and their mission to provide support for children, no matter the families' ability to pay for aid. Some of the NFL's greatest players such as Tom Brady, Brett Favre, and John Elway have played in the Shrine Bowl.

Along with being invited to the East-West Shrine Bowl, Ray has also announced on Instagram that he has received an invite to the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine.
