Alabama collects its third commitment to the 2023 class after four-star in-state edge rusher Yhonzae Pierre made his decision on Thursday morning via social media. Pierre committed just two days before he was scheduled to appear at Alabama's annual A-Day game on Saturday, April 16.

He thanked the ones who helped him along the way in a post on Twitter announcing the commitment as well.

"God i thank you for this blessing. I also want to say thank you to my parents, family, teachers, and coaches for helping me along the way. I’ve found my new home I’m committed to the University of Alabama. Roll Tide Roll [sic]"

Though he only visited two schools according to 247Sports, Pierre held offers from other prominent schools like Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Penn State and Texas.

The 6-foot-4 220-pound native of Eufaula, Alabama grew up on the border of Alabama and Georgia, just over an hour south of Auburn.

All three names committed to the 2023 recruiting class for Alabama are currently defensive players and Pierre is the second in-state recruit.

He joins five-star corner Jahlil Hurley and four-star safety Elliot Washington in the class who both committed earlier in 2022.
