Nick Saban must meet with AD Greg Byrne within 45 days of the season.
Saban's base salary is $245,000 a year, BUT add the talent fees from his radio & tv, speaking gigs, & promotion to get to the big money. Pay for public appearances is 26.4 times higher than pay for coaching.
Two full size automobiles for the coach. U of A pays liability insurance.
Use of a 15 seat skybox and game tickets.
Membership in a Tuscaloosa County Country Club with golf.
AD Greg Byrne approved athletic apparel, including shoes.
Use of the schools private plane for 25 hours of private use.
Life insurance with physical exams required.
Lots of playoff bonuses.
Termination for conviction of any criminal violation, including minor traffic offenses or non-criminal. And the usual morals clause.
Bottom line...Nick Saban is now the highest paid coach in American sports. And worth every penny!
