I'm getting personal (maybe too personal), and I hope y'all are ready for these five Meg facts I am about to post publicly to the world wide web.

1. I am an organ donor for entirely selfish reasons. My greatest fear is being buried alive. No--seriously. I have a completely irrational fear of being buried alive. I can't even go into caves because I am terrified that some sort of earthquake, landslide, or other mishap will cause me to be trapped. I've had this fear since I was a kid, and it's the driving force behind my deciding to be an organ donor AND for including my wishes to be cremated in my will. Sorry for coming out of the gate with some macabre stuff, but your girl always keeps it real.

2. Since I am keeping it 100, I'll throw this one out there: I was engaged three times before I got married. I had three different engagements to three different guys, none of whom were my husband. My husband and I were never engaged. We just got courthouse married--how's that for romance?

3. I've seen every episode of Mad Men at least four times. It is my favorite television show of all time. I love that it's funny, insightful, and achingly beautiful. Bonus fact: When I get really deep into my depression, I end up rewatching Mad Men or BoJack Horseman. I'll just sit on the couch and watch episode after episode.

4. I guess this would be an appropriate time to mention that I have struggled with clinical depression for most of my adult life. I manage it with medication, and I don't think there should be any shame in admitting that a person has been diagnosed with a mental illness. If I were diabetic, I'd take insulin, right? What's the difference between that chemical imbalance and one that requires me to take an antidepressant?

5. I think palindromes are good luck. All my alarms are set to times that are palindromes. I schedule meetings, blog posts--you name it--around palindrome times as well. I fully realize how crazy this is, and yet I continue to do it.
