The Tuscaloosa Police Department has charged 10 teens with third-degree assault and rioting after a brawl broke out in the parking lot of the Bowlero bowling alley on McFarland Boulevard last month.

Lt. Teena Richardson, a spokesperson for the department, said officers interviewed witnesses and reviewed several videos of the melee, which took place on April 20th, a week before Bowlero's grand opening, and were able to obtain petitions through juvenile court to charge 10 teenagers with assault and rioting.

Richardson said TPD arrested 8 girls and 2 boys, all between the ages of 14 and 17. All suspects have also been trespassed from Bowlero and are not allowed to be on its property for the next two years, Richardson said.

The brawl also led to management at the bowling alley hiring addition security staff and promising to be more vigilant about the safety of their patrons.
