What Defines a White Christmas?

According to the NOAA's National Climatic Data Center, a “white Christmas is defined as having 1 inch or more of snow on the ground Christmas morning.”

“Christmas snow cover isn't just a northern thing. Some years, parts of the southern U.S. have marveled at the sight of a white Christmas,” said The Weather Channel. “But it's been more than 10 years since a white Christmas was observed in much of the South.”
