The number of patients visiting their doctor with flu-like symptoms has continued to rise for the fourth week in a row.  The Alabama Department of Public Health reports 8.4% of all outpatient doctor visits the weeks of January 27- February 9 were due to influenza-like symptoms, a rate which has almost doubled in the past month alone. Flu types A, H1N1, and H3 are currently circulating within West Central Alabama.

You can prevent the flu by getting your influenza vaccine and practicing good hygiene. Check out the CDC's guide to preventing the flu HERE.
