12,703 people from each of the United States were polled by a personality and career website which discovered distinct personality traits in each of our 50 states.
Truity wanted to know if certain stereotypes had any basis such as southerners being more hospitable, and New Yorkers being more neurotic. They rated states based on the Big Five dimensions of personality, which is the most commonly used model in psychology.
