What Does an Official Alabama Football Scholarship Offer Looks Like?
The first day of August means schools around the country can officially send out scholarship offers to prospects in the class of 2018.
Players across the country are sharing pictures of their offers, which have become much more elaborate and eye-catching with the rise of social media. One of the top players in this year's class is Justyn Ross, a five-star wide receiver out of Phenix City, and shared the official offer he received from The University of Alabama.
If you're wondering why August 1 is so important, here's the NCAA's rule on scholarship offers:
“Prior to August 1 of a prospective student-athlete’s senior year in high school, an institution shall not provide a written offer of athletically-related financial aid or indicate in writing to the prospective student-athlete that an athletically-related grant-in-aid will be offered by the institution.”
Alabama has seven total commitments for the class of 2018 heading into the start of fall practice after landing four-star offensive lineman Tommy Brown in late-July.
