If you want to go to Alabama's home opening Saturday night, you can, and it won't break the bank.

Tickets through the University of Alabama's official game ticket resale site are still available for Kalen DeBoer's debut as the Crimson Tide's Head Football Coach. Surprisingly, the prices are more than reasonable.

Upper level endzone seats can be had for as little as $15.00 upwards to $57.00. Lower section north endzone seats are priced from $39.00 to $185.00.

Westside upper deck are priced from $16.00 to $32.00. Westside lower bowl run from $47.00 to$48.00.

Eastside upper deck will cost you from $20.00 to $61.00. Eastside lower bowl tickets will run you from $51.00 to $105.00.

The most expensive ticket on the board right now is a pair of $159.00 northwest corner club level seats.

There are tickets from other secondary ticket services that are available as well, but most are at stiffer prices.

If you go Saturday night, keep in mind a brief shower or thunderstorm can’t be ruled out during the first half, otherwise mostly fair with temperatures falling from near 89 degrees at kickoff to the upper 70s by the final whistle.

Topping the News:

40-year-old Letitus Demond Gay has been arrested by Northport Police and charged with animal cruelty.
After receiving a tip, a warrant was obtained leading NPD investigators to find six dead dogs at a residence on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard Monday.
Gay's bond is set at $7,500 dollars.


The Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter has resumed adoptions after an outbreak of distemper temporarily closed the facility. A Facebook post by the facility stated 58 dogs tested positive and 56 had to be euthanized.


For the first time in a decade the Alabama Community College System is reporting record enrollment. System VP Neal Scott says people of all ages see community colleges as a good investment in their future.

Tuscaloosa’s Shelton State saw an 8% increase in student body size with more than 45-hundred students enrolled.


More than $875,000 has been awarded by Gov. Ivey to support Turning Point in Tuscaloosa and 14 other agencies of the Alabama Coalition Against Rape across the state. Turning Point represents Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Marengo, Pickens, Sumter and Tuscaloosa counties.


It is Crimson Tide Football game week in Tuscaloosa, and while the Tide has been preparing for Western Kentucky, TPD Chief Brent Blankley tells news partner ABC3340, the city has been getting ready for 100,000 plus fans for a night game at Bryant-Denny stadium and that means huge post-game parting. Often inebriated crowds inundate the UA Strip creating overcrowding in bars and on the streets.

Blankley reminds that parking and towing rules will be the same as last season.


Now former ALEA State Trooper Ryan Christian Rhodes was caught in a Montgomery multi-jurisdictional sex trafficking sting operation. Montgomery County Sheriff Derrick Cunningham told a press conference that Rhodes was seeking sex with a minor.

Rhodes was one of 11 men caught in the sting.


D.R. Horton, the developer getting pushback on a proposed neighborhood development near Shelton State has abandoned a plan for a similar development in Shelby County after opposition from residents there. Horton already has neighborhoods in Tuscaloosa County and across the state.


The late Dr. Ramesh Peramsetty, who died last Friday, will be remembered during a nine-hour come-and-go visitation hosted by Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Dr. Peramsetty founded the Crimson Care Network of medical facilities in Tuscaloosa.



Topping Sports News:

Tide Head Football Coach Kalen DeBoer told reporters at his 1st game week press conference that he is pleased at how his team has prepared for the season. DeBoer says his team met the challenge of keeping intensity up through the grueling pre-season practice schedule.
Kickoff against Western Kentucky is 6:00 Saturday night and the Tide is a 31 ½ point favorite.


Alabama and Auburn will meet for the first time in the 2024-2025 athletic calendar on ice. Alabama and Auburn hockey teams will faceoff at 7:00 p.m. on September 6th at the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena.

The Frozen Tide will have home games against Louisville, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, West Virginia, Utah, Georgia and Tennessee among others.
