Tuscaloosa Joins National Effort to Honor Lost Babies
There is an alarming amount of parents in West Alabama and the United States who have lost their babies as a result of miscarriage, stillbirth, and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
Wednesday October 15th, at 5:30p community organizations, parents and community members in Tuscaloosa will join in on the national effort to honor those babies who were lost in the wave of light event.
The event will be held at the New Heights Community Resource Center.
International Wave of light is in remembrance and honor of those babies lost by miscarriage, stillbirth or SIDS, said Trendle Samuel, Black Warrior Community Action Team member who participated in the Tuscaloosa remembrance event in the past.
Jasmine Cleveland who experienced four losses shared her thoughts on the importance of the event in Tuscaloosa,
"This event meant everything to me because pregnancy and infant loss awareness is not spread enough so I was so excited and grateful that this event was hosted because it is much needed for our community for the hurting mothers and fathers."Revive was started after Cleveland lost four babies.

Cleveland says she wants to be there for women as someone who has been through loss and knows what it feels like to go through that grieving process.
Earlier this year Cleveland battled through the death of her son Judah in a car accident.
"We were on vacation in Texas and a drunk driver ran into us," said Cleveland. "Losing a child is a pain that no one wants to experience."
The death of her son inspired Cleveland to create a branch of Revive called the Lion of Judah project in her son's honor. Through this initiative, Cleveland will be able to assist children in the Tuscaloosa area by sponsoring their back to school supplies, or grabbing them Christmas gifts, and more.
