42 million federal dollars are headed to West Alabama for community projects thanks to 7th District Democrat Congresswoman Terri Sewell. Sewell announced 21 million will go to military installations in Montgomery with the remainder to projects across her district that will assist in recovery from this past spring's tornadoes.
President Biden is again making fun of Alabama senior U-S Senator Tommy Tuberville for praising passing passage of a bill allocating 1-point-4 billion dollars for broadband improvements in Alabama, a bill Tuberville voted against. Biden’s comments came during a speech in South Carolina.
Tuscaloosa police have charged a Texas man with trafficking cannabis after he was allegedly discovered with several pounds of marijuana gummies, a jar of the psychedelic compound DMT and more. In court documents, a TPD officer said he was patrolling Interstate 20/59 Monday afternoon when he stopped a car with Texas plates for following a vehicle too closely. 22-year-old Jaison Conner Ross was arrested after a search of his vehicle.
The new Boys and Girls Club in Northport already has a waiting list for children who want to participate in the program. The CEO of Boys and Girls Club of West Alabama Kim Turner tells news partner ABC3340 expansion is already in the planning phase. The new Boys and Girls Club will be dedicated on the Hasson Center property next week.
