West Alabama County-by-County Frost Timeline 24-25 Predictions Revealed
Alabama is not quite ready for the Fall season or even “Fake Fall,” but it is coming.
Now, it seems like everyone uses frost and freeze interchangeably, but there is a subtle difference.
Frost
Empress of Dirt said it is “a thin layer of ice crystals that forms on grass or other surfaces from the moisture (water vapor) in the air. This can occur at temperatures at or around freezing 32°F depending on conditions.”
Freezing
“When temperatures reach 32°F (0°C) or lower. Or the process of solidification of water and the formation of ice in aqueous solutions. The water in the ice cube tray is freezing,” said Empress of Dirt.
Why is it Important to Know the Frost Dates?
American Meadows said, “Frost dates are important for gardeners to know, as they signal the start and end of the gardening season.”
For Alabamians, it could be the hint of sweater weather season.
