The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama recognized all of the top volunteers during its 125th annual meeting Thursday night.

The event was presented by Northport Sports Development LLC.

The big winner was Dr. Jonathan Koh of Shelton State Community College, who was named member of the year.

The Executive Vice President of the chamber, Donny Jones, spoke about why they were very proud to recognize Dr. Koh as the member of the year for his tireless dedication to bridging the gap between education and workforce development in West Alabama.

The honorable Richard Shelby Leadership Award was presented to Dr. Stuart Bell.

The Robert Tanner Corporate Service Award was presented to Westervelt, and the Ambassador of the Year Award was presented to Marvin Turner of Choice Salon Suites.

The nonprofit of the year Award was given to the Kristen Amerson Youth Foundation.

The Chamber also recognizes exceptional organizational leadership with its two distinguished service awards. The awards were presented to Blake Madison of Rosen-Harwood and Glenda Webb, recently retired from the City of Northport.
The Rising Star Award was presented to David Grant, Jr., of "Catch A Taste."
The H. Pettus Randall Entrepreneur of the Year was given to Hinton Howell and Larry Howell of Hinton Lumber Products.
