Weather Alert: Rain & Possible Damaging Winds for Much of Alabama
West and Central Alabama will experience showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday ahead of an incoming cold front.
"This system will bring breezy conditions and brief heavy downpours, and some thunderstorms could produce damaging wind gusts," said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.

Bibb – between 1.5-2"
Fayette – between 0.5-1"
Greene – between 1-1.5"
Hale – between 1.5-2”
Lamar – between 0.5-1"
Perry – between 1.5-2"
Pickens – between 1-1.5"
Sumter – between 1-1.5"
Tuscaloosa – between 1-1.5"
Walker – between 0.5-1"
In addition to the widespread rain on Tuesday, the Storm Prediction Center has placed much of the state under a "marginal risk" of severe thunderstorms.
"The air will be fairly stable, but where thunderstorms do form, they will be capable of producing gusty winds," said James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist. "A brief, isolated tornado can't be ruled out across the southwest corner of the state."
