A place that held a lot of fond memories for Alabama football fans is no more.

The Georgia Dome, which has hosted major sporting events, concerts and more, was imploded on Monday morning just 25 years after it opened. The event was captured on video from many different angles as hundreds of people lined the streets downtown to watch the stadium come crashing to the ground.

The Georgia Dome might be best known for hosting the SEC Championship every year since 1994 when it moved from Legion Field in Birmingham. The Crimson Tide have played in Atlanta nine times as the SEC West champion, winning six SEC Championships. Alabama won the final three championship games in that stadium and four of the past five.

The dome also hosted Alabama multiple times for non-conference season openers as well as last year's College Football Playoff semifinal win over Washington. It's a venue that will always have a special place in Alabama football history, but Monday was the last time it stood alongside the Georgia World Congress Center in downtown Atlanta.
