‘Walk MS: Tuscaloosa’ has been announced and will take place on Saturday, March 9th at Snow Hinton Park. Check-in will open at 9 am with the walk beginning at 10. The walk will go on rain or shine.

The funds raised during the walk will help support services for the more than 4200 people living with MS in Alabama and fund research projects to find a cure for this chronic disease of the central nervous system.

‘Walk MS: Tuscaloosa’ will offer a 1, 2, or 3 mile route option for all participants. There is not a registration fee for the walk, but participants are encouraged to set a personal fundraising goal.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society website describes MS as “…a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system (CNS), which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another. Today, new treatments and advances in research are giving new hope to people affected by the disease.”
