Unwrapping the West Alabama Christmas Holiday Weather, Temp Guide

Thursday, December 21, marks the beginning of a new season, WINTER, in the northern hemisphere! It’s also known as winter solstice, beginning at 9:27 p.m. In addition, you will notice that the days will become longer which means the amount of daylight will increase.

Alabamians are excited about the weekend leading into Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Here is what weather to expect.

Saturday

James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said, "The weather will stay dry through Saturday, with partly sunny days and mostly fair nights.”

Sunday – Christmas Eve

“Clouds will increase on Sunday, and rain is possible during the day across the southwest counties. Then, rain is likely statewide late Sunday and Sunday night,” said Spann.

Monday – Christmas Day

Statewide rain will continue Christmas Day, with rain amounts close to one inch for the northern section of Alabama.

Headed to the Gulf Coast

“Communities near the Gulf Coast will likely reach 70 degrees over the weekend,” said Spann.
