Back-to-school preparedness time is here, and the Westside Church of Christ is hosting their annual Backpack Drive.

The event will take place on Saturday, July 26, from 11 a.m. until all the supplies are gone. The event will be held at the church located at 2925 17th St., Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.

The free event is designed for families in Tuscaloosa County with children attending K-12, offering free backpacks filled with school supplies. Attendees can also enjoy free hot dogs, hamburgers, and a variety of fun activities, including bouncy houses for the kids.

It is “important to get kids ready for back to school with these items because it helps families ease the stress in our economy, where everything is sky high and unaffordable,” said Westside Church of Christ organizers.

“You must be present at the event to receive a backpack. There is a limit of one backpack per person,” said the press release.
