Tuscaloosa to Celebrate Arbor Week with Free Tree Seedlings
In celebration of Arbor Week, the City of Tuscaloosa, in collaboration with the Alabama Forestry Commission, The Westervelt Company, and Alabama Power, will be hosting a tree seedling giveaway. On Saturday, February 15, over 2,000 bare root and containerized tree seedlings will be distributed at the Tuscaloosa River Market, starting at 7 a.m. and continuing until supplies run out.

The event, open to all, will feature a variety of tree species available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The seedlings that will be available include the following:
Bald Cypress
Astern Redbud
Hazelnut
Loblolly Pine
Silky Dogwood
Southern Crab Apple
Swamp White Oak
With high demand expected, residents are encouraged to arrive early to secure their seedlings. In addition to receiving a free tree, attendees will have the chance to learn valuable tips on planting and properly placing trees in their yards.
