3 Tuscaloosa Shakes vs. The Grimace Shake
It's National Milkshake Day and here in Tuscaloosa, you've got lots of options.
The newest kid on the block, though, is the McDonald's Grimace Shake.
The purple milkshake combines berry flavor with soft-serve and is part of Grimace's so-called Birthday Meal. Guess they ran out of real-life celebrities to partner with.
Though, honestly, I kinda like the idea that I'm chowing down on that purple fun guy. Plus, apparently he was created as a villain, so I'm gonna do my part to stop him.
He does have pretty good dance moves, though.
If you're tired of the Grimace Shake supremacy, here's three other Tuscaloosa locations you can visit to celebrate Milkshake Day. (Plus, the skill they'll use to beat the Grimace Shake.)
Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers
LOCATION: 315 15th St.
TIME: Sun-Sat, 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
SKILL: Frozen custard differs from ice cream by adding in egg yolks. You can be sure we'll be leaving Grimace with some egg on his face.
LOCATION: 100 15th St. E
TIME: Sun-Sat, 10 a.m. to 3:30 a.m.
SKILL: Cookout brings not one, but TWO skills to the table. Not only do they have over 40 milkshakes flavors, but they're open way late. Take that Grimace.
LOCATION: 2304 McFarland Blvd E
TIME: Mon-Sat, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. | Sun, noon to 10 p.m.
SKILL: TCBY's website state their shakes are vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free. We're gonna be so healthy after eating this ice cream, Grimace doesn't stand a chance.
But we have to know our enemy to take him down. Here's our drive-thru review.
So don't let Grimace get you down. There's lots of other shakes to consume here in Tuscaloosa.
And even if you're a Grimace fan, they'll still be here after he's gone.
