The Tuscaloosa Police Department planned to have their National Night Out event on Thursday, September 25th, at Government Plaza from 5:30-7:30 pm. It's looking like this already rescheduled date will not happen as planned.

According to a post on Facebook by the Tuscaloosa Police Department, the event has been canceled.

"National Night Out is canceled (again!) due to a rainy weather forecast," TPD posted online.

National Night Out is meant to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement. The event also serves as a way of law enforcement members to have positive interactions with community members.

There hasn't been any word yet on if the event will happen on a future date.
