Tuscaloosa Hwy 55 Burgers Suffers Significant Damage in Overnight Fire
Update:
The owner of the restaurant, Derrick Duane Maddox, has been arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Arson related to the fire. He’s in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $15,000 Bond.
The Tuscaloosa Fire Department responded to reports of fire around 9 p.m. last (Tuesday, July 10, 2018) night;
reports say no one was in the building by the time firefighters arrived to the scene of the fire on McFarland Boulevard.
The restaurant is said to have sustained significant damage, and though surrounding businesses have had smoke damage, Dunkin Donuts is open this morning.
