A Tuscaloosa City School employee has been arrested on five counts of having sexual conduct with students under the age of 19.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department arrested teacher Jarvis Lanier for inappropriately touched five female students between the ages of 13 to 17 years old during track practice on the grounds of Central High School Football Field House during the months of February to April 2016.

The statement read:

On March 31, 2016, Tuscaloosa Police Department Juvenile Division was made aware of inappropriate behavior of a City of Tuscaloosa School Employee.

The suspect has been employed with the City of Tuscaloosa School System as a teacher at Central Elementary Primary School and Track Coach at Westlawn Middle School for two years. Due to the nature of the incidents, this investigation is ongoing.

Jarvis Orlando Lanier age 32 of Tuscaloosa, AL was arrested on 5 counts of School Employee having Sexual Contact with a Student under the Age of 19 (i.e. inappropriate touching of kids under the age of 19).

Lanier was transported to Tuscaloosa County Jail on a total bond of $30,000.00 and transported to Tuscaloosa County Jail pending release.
