The younger brother of an Alabama great, Taulia Tagovailoa has entered the transfer portal according to AL.com's Matt Zenitz. Tagovailoa played in five games as a freshman in 2019 for the Crimson Tide. He is now in the portal with eyes on another school.

Tagovailoa served as the third quarterback for the Crimson Tide for 2019 serving behind his older brother Tua and Mac Jones. His older brother was drafted last month by the Miami Dolphins. The Crimson Tide signed the number one quarterback in the 2020 recruiting cycle in Bryce Young. Jones, Young and Crimson Tide legacy Paul Tyson will be competing for the starting quarterback role in 2020.

Tagovailoa played in five games, he was 9/12 passing for 100 yards and one touchdown as the third string quarterback. He played against Duke, Southern Miss, Arkansas, Mississippi State and Western Carolina. He would likely redshirt at his new school and be eligible to play for the following three seasons.

Tagovailoa was a four-star recruit out of Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama in the class of 2019. He led the Warriors to the State Championship in 2018 and was named Class 7A All-State team in 2017.

Tagovailoa moved with his family from Hawaii to Alabama once his older brother joined the Crimson Tide in 2017. We will send another update when Tagovailoa chooses a new school or withdraws his name from the transfer portal.
