Troy Gentry dies in helicopter crash
Montgomery Gentry's Troy Gentry died in a helicopter crash this afternoon in New Jersey. He was 50. The duo were scheduled to perform this evening in Medford, NJ. The show has been cancelled. The accident occured around 1p (ET) today. The duo's Eddie Montgomery was not on board the helicopter at the time of the accident. The identity of a second passenger on board has not yet been released.
Formed in 1999, Montgomery Gentry found success with songs including "If You Ever Stop Loving Me," "Something To Be Proud Of" and "Back When I Knew It All."
Gentry is survived by his parents, wife and two daughters.
