
Tornadoes, Damaging Winds & Hail Expected Next Weekend in Alabama
The Townsquare Media Weather Center is monitoring the possibility of severe weather next weekend.
James Spann, ABC 33/40 and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist, said, “Energetic upper trough with strong wind fields is forecast next weekend. This is nothing unusual for mid-March."

Early Outlook on Timing
The National Weather Service in Birmingham said, "Severe thunderstorms will be possible Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning as a strong storm system moves east across the area.”
Risk Areas
The Storm Prediction Center currently has the entire Yellowhammer State under a Slight Risk. This means a 15-29% probability of severe weather.
Threats
- Damaging winds up to 60 mph
- Tornadoes
- Large hail up to quarter size
