Songwriter Hope Cassity has helped to raise countless funds for local charities with the 'Tips for Tuscaloosa' songwriter's concert. Now, it's her turn to be on the receiving end.

About 8 years ago her father, Joe Daniels, was a liver transplant patient recipient. For around the past year and a half the condition of his organs began deteriorating from the anti-rejection medication and the strain of the transplant on his body. Joe has had dozens of surgeries and hundreds of procedures to prep him for the possibility of another transplantation.

Recently, the doctors updated the family with some really difficult news...he is nearing a fork in the road. He will no longer be eligible for transplant at UAB because they do not handle cases as complex as his and he is nearing the end of his life without a transplant. There is only one facility in the U.S.that may be able to give him the opportunity to survive because he needs a total liver, kidney, full small intestine, and vascular transplant. The family is praying that insurance will cover some or most of it but the remaining chance that he could possibly go there will depend on money. After almost 9 years of major medical bills Joe is no longer able to keep afloat or pay for continuing this process.

Friends and fellow songwriters came to the rescue and have organized "A Night of Hope" on Saturday, September 12th at Eat My Beats on Jug Factory Road in Tuscaloosa! The night's entertainment will include performances from Sweet Tea Trio and Cottonbox Road with help from local favorites Jordan Elliott, McCay Harrison, and Christopher Gladden

The goal for Hope and Joe's family is to raise $5,000 for whatever expenses they may need at the time. 100% of all door proceeds will go to Hope Cassity's family.

The family has also set up a GiveForward account if you'd like to make a private online donation.

Doors open for meet and greet at 6 pm and show starts at 7 pm! Tickets are just $10 and can be purchased here.
