Potential for Severe Weather

The National Weather Service in Birmingham said, “After periods of showers on Sunday, a line of heavy rain with a few embedded thunderstorms is expected to sweep across central Alabama Sunday night.”

James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said, “The storms should be weakening as they move into the state, and we probably won't even see much lightning. Still, SPC maintains a low end "marginal risk" of severe thunderstorms for the western half of the state. The main threat of severe storms is to the west across parts of MS/AR/LA.”

Timing

The current outlook on timing is between Sunday 8 p.m. and Monday 2 a.m. For the Townsquare Media Coverage Area, most of our counties are in the time window between 8 p.m. and Midnight.
